What Does ADCC Stand For?

ADCC stands for Antibody Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity

ADCC, or Antibody Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity, is an immune mechanism wherein antibodies bind to target cells, marking them for destruction by immune effector cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells. This process enhances the immune response by facilitating the recognition and elimination of infected or cancerous cells, playing a crucial role in the efficacy of certain therapeutic antibodies and vaccine strategies.
