ADMET stands for Adsorption Distribution Metabolism Excretion And Toxicity
ADMET refers to a set of pharmacokinetic and toxicological parameters used in drug development and toxicology assessment. It encompasses five key aspects: Adsorption, which examines how well a substance is absorbed into the body; Distribution, which addresses how the substance is dispersed throughout the body's tissues; Metabolism, the process by which the body chemically alters the substance; Excretion, the elimination of the substance from the body; and Toxicity, which evaluates the potentially harmful effects of the substance on biological systems. Understanding ADMET properties is crucial for predicting a compound's behavior in vivo and its overall therapeutic viability.
