BXA, or Bureau of Export Administration, was a former agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce responsible for enforcing export control laws and regulations. The bureau's primary mission was to promote national security and foreign policy interests by managing the export of dual-use technologies and sensitive items. BXA played a crucial role in ensuring compliance with international trade agreements and protecting U.S. economic interests. In 2002, it was succeeded by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
