What Does CABG Stand For?

CABG stands for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft

CABG, or Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, is a surgical procedure used to improve blood flow to the heart by bypassing blocked or narrowed coronary arteries. During the operation, a blood vessel from another part of the body is grafted to create a new pathway for blood to reach the heart muscle, reducing symptoms such as chest pain and improving overall heart function. CABG is commonly performed in patients with coronary artery disease or severe heart disease to enhance quality of life and reduce the risk of heart-related complications.
