What Does CGCG Stand For?
CGCG stands for Central Giant Cell Granuloma
Central Giant Cell Granuloma (CGCG) is a benign, non-neoplastic lesion that typically occurs in the jawbones, particularly the mandible. Characterized by the presence of multinucleated giant cells, macrophages, and a fibrous stroma, CGCG may present as asymptomatic swelling or localized pain. It is commonly identified in younger adults and can be associated with underlying dental conditions. Treatment often involves surgical excision, and while recurrence is possible, the prognosis is generally favorable. Regular follow-up is recommended to monitor for any potential recurrence.
