The CJCS is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of the military to support national defense objectives. This role includes advising on military strategy, policy, and planning, as well as representing the military in discussions with international leaders and during congressional testimonies.
