What Does CRT Stand For?
CRT stands for Capillary Refill Time
Capillary Refill Time (CRT) is a clinical assessment tool used to evaluate peripheral circulation and blood volume status. It measures the time taken for color to return to an area of the skin after it has been compressed, typically at the fingertip or toe. A CRT of less than 2 seconds is generally considered normal, while prolonged refill times may indicate inadequate blood flow, shock, or other underlying health issues. CRT is commonly used in both adults and children as part of a comprehensive physical examination.
