CVG stands for Cochleovestibular Ganglion
CVG, or Cochleovestibular Ganglion, is a cluster of neurons located in the inner ear that plays a critical role in auditory and vestibular functions. It comprises the cell bodies of the bipolar neurons responsible for transmitting sensory information from the cochlea, related to hearing, and from the vestibular apparatus, related to balance and spatial orientation, to the central nervous system. The proper functioning of the CVG is essential for maintaining equilibrium and processing sound information.
