What Does DU Stand For?
DU stands for Dobson Units
Dobson Units (DU) is a measurement unit used to express the total amount of ozone in a column of the Earth's atmosphere. One Dobson Unit corresponds to a layer of ozone that would be 0.01 millimeters thick at standard temperature and pressure. The unit is named after British scientist G. M. B. Dobson, who developed the Dobson spectrophotometer to measure atmospheric ozone levels. DU is commonly used in atmospheric science to assess ozone layer thickness and monitor changes in ozone concentration over time.
