ESRO stands for European Space Research Organisation
The European Space Research Organisation (ESRO) was established in 1964 as an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the development and coordination of space research in Europe. ESRO played a pivotal role in advancing space science and technology through various satellite missions and collaborations among European countries. In 1975, it merged with the European Launcher Development Organisation (ELDO) to form the European Space Agency (ESA), which continues to lead European space endeavors.
