What Does GFWS Stand For?
GFWS stands for Ground Proximity Warning System
GFWS, or Ground Proximity Warning System, is a critical aviation safety technology designed to alert pilots of the aircraft's proximity to the terrain. By utilizing advanced sensors and algorithms, the system continuously monitors altitude and geographical data to provide timely warnings in situations where the aircraft may be at risk of a controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) incident. The GFWS enhances situational awareness and helps prevent accidents by prompting corrective actions from the flight crew in high-risk scenarios.
