The Howardite Eucrite Diogenite (HED) suite is a classification of achondrite meteorites that originated from the asteroid Vesta. This suite is composed of three distinct types: howardites, which are mixtures of eucrites and diogenites; eucrites, which are basaltic in composition and are believed to represent volcanic activity on Vesta; and diogenites, which are composed primarily of pyroxene and indicate deeper crustal processes.
