HNPCC stands for Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer
HNPCC, or Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer, is a genetic condition associated with a higher risk of developing colorectal cancer and other associated malignancies, such as endometrial, ovarian, and stomach cancers. It is caused by inherited mutations in genes responsible for DNA mismatch repair. Individuals with HNPCC typically have a family history of these cancers and may be advised to undergo regular screening and preventive measures to manage their risk effectively.
