What Does ICSH Stand For?
ICSH stands for Interstitial Cell Stimulating Hormone
Interstitial Cell Stimulating Hormone (ICSH) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland. It plays a crucial role in regulating reproductive functions in both males and females. In males, ICSH stimulates the interstitial cells of the testes to produce testosterone, thereby influencing spermatogenesis and secondary sexual characteristics. In females, it assists in the regulation of ovarian function. ICSH is also known for contributing to the overall balance of hormonal activities within the endocrine system.
