What Does MEG Stand For?

MEG stands for Magnetoencephalography

Magnetoencephalography (MEG) is a non-invasive neuroimaging technique that measures the magnetic fields produced by neuronal activity in the brain. By detecting these fields with high temporal resolution, MEG provides insights into brain function and is used for research as well as clinical applications, including the localization of brain regions responsible for sensory processing, movement, and language. Its ability to capture dynamic neural events makes MEG a valuable tool in both neuroscience research and the pre-surgical evaluation of patients with epilepsy or brain tumors.
