What Does MT Stand For?

MT stands for Meitnerium

MT, or Meitnerium, is a synthetic element with the atomic number 109. It was first synthesized in 1982 and named in honor of physicist Lise Meitner. Meitnerium is classified as a transaction metal and is part of the 7th period of the periodic table. Due to its instability and high radioactivity, Meitnerium does not occur naturally and is primarily produced in particle accelerators. Its most stable isotope, Meitnerium-278, has a half-life of about 7.6 seconds, limiting its practical applications but contributing to advancements in nuclear chemistry and physics research.
