What Does NADC Stand For?
NADC stands for Sodium Deoxycholate
NADC, or Sodium Deoxycholate, is a bile salt derived from the metabolism of cholesterol. It serves as a potent anionic detergent and emulsifying agent, commonly used in laboratory research and clinical applications, particularly for cell solubilization and membrane protein extraction. Due to its ability to disrupt lipid bilayers, NADC plays a significant role in biochemistry and molecular biology studies, as well as in pharmaceutical formulations for drug delivery. Its surfactant properties also make it valuable in the cosmetic industry.
