What Does NGCC Stand For?
NGCC stands for Natural Gas Combined Cycle
NGCC, or Natural Gas Combined Cycle, is an efficient power generation technology that combines gas and steam turbines to produce electricity. In this system, natural gas is burned to drive a gas turbine, which generates electricity, while the waste heat from the gas turbine is used to produce steam that drives a steam turbine for additional electricity generation. This process maximizes energy efficiency and reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional coal-fired power plants. NGCC is increasingly favored for its flexibility, lower operational costs, and ability to quickly respond to changes in electricity demand.
