What Does NRZ Stand For?
NRZ stands for Non Return To Zero
NRZ, or Non Return To Zero, is a binary signal encoding scheme used in data communication and storage. In NRZ encoding, bits are represented by two distinct voltage levels without returning to a baseline state between bits. This allows for a more efficient use of bandwidth, as information is transmitted continuously. However, NRZ can present challenges in synchronization and error detection due to its lack of a neutral state, making it essential to implement additional techniques to maintain signal integrity.
