What Does NSCLC Stand For?
NSCLC stands for Non Small Cell Lung Cancer
NSCLC, or Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, is the most common type of lung cancer, accounting for approximately 85% of all cases. It is characterized by a variety of histological subtypes, including adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and large cell carcinoma. NSCLC typically develops from the epithelial cells lining the airways and is often associated with risk factors such as smoking and environmental exposures. Diagnosis is commonly achieved through imaging and biopsy, and treatment options may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapies, depending on the stage of the disease and individual patient factors.
