What Does SRAM Stand For?
SRAM stands for Static Random Access Memory Ess Ram
SRAM, or Static Random Access Memory, is a type of volatile memory that retains data bits in its memory as long as power is supplied. Unlike Dynamic RAM (DRAM), SRAM does not require periodic refreshing to maintain data, making it faster and more stable. It is commonly used in applications where speed and efficiency are critical, such as in cache memory for processors, networking devices, and embedded systems. Its superior performance comes at the cost of higher manufacturing complexity and expense compared to DRAM.
