What Does SSS Stand For?
SSS stands for Selective Service System
The Selective Service System (SSS) is an independent agency of the United States government that maintains information on those potentially subject to military conscription, known as the draft. It was established to ensure that the country can quickly and efficiently mobilize a reserve of potential service members in times of national emergency. Registration with the SSS is required for nearly all male citizens and immigrant non-citizens aged 18 to 25, and failure to register can result in penalties, including ineligibility for certain government benefits.
