What Does TIA Stand For?
TIA stands for Transient Ischemic Attack
TIA, or Transient Ischemic Attack, is a temporary period of symptoms similar to those of a stroke. It occurs when there is a temporary decrease in blood supply to a part of the brain, often caused by a blood clot. Symptoms can include sudden weakness, confusion, difficulty speaking, and loss of balance. While TIAs are brief and do not cause permanent damage, they are serious warning signs of potential future strokes and require immediate medical evaluation and intervention.
