The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) is a nonpartisan, independent federal institution established by the U.S. Congress in 1984. Its mission is to promote the prevention, management, and resolution of conflicts around the world through research, education, and training. USIP engages in dialogue, provides resources for conflict resolution, and supports peacebuilding initiatives, both domestically and internationally, fostering sustainable peace through collaboration with governments, civil society, and other stakeholders.
