What Does WD Stand For?
WD stands for White Dwarf
WD, or White Dwarf, refers to a small, dense star that represents the final evolutionary stage of stars like our Sun, following the red giant phase. Composed primarily of carbon and oxygen, white dwarfs have exhausted their nuclear fuel and no longer undergo fusion reactions. Instead, they gradually cool and fade over time. With a mass similar to that of the Sun but a volume comparable to that of Earth, white dwarfs serve as critical objects of study in understanding stellar evolution and the fate of stars in the universe.
