What Does HPV Stand For?
HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus
HPV, or Human Papilloma Virus, is a group of over 200 related viruses, some of which can cause genital warts and others that are associated with various types of cancer, including cervical cancer. HPV is predominantly transmitted through skin-to-skin contact during sexual activity. Vaccines are available to prevent the most harmful strains of the virus, and regular screenings can help detect potential health issues early.
