What Does HPV Stand For?
HPV stands for Human Papillomavirus
HPV, or Human Papillomavirus, is a group of more than 200 related viruses, some of which are sexually transmitted. Certain types of HPV can cause genital warts, while others are associated with various cancers, including cervical, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide, and vaccination and regular screening are key strategies for prevention and early detection of related health issues.
